Students learn how encryption and ciphers have been used over time, especially in World War II, before cracking and creating their own ciphers.
In this ‘unplugged’ lesson students create their own Caesar cipher, firstly using cards before writing, testing and debugging algorithms to create a Caesar cipher to encrypt and decrypt messages.
In this lesson students are introduced to text-based programming. Participants will explore and analyse JavaScript code before using their developing knowledge of selection, variables, functions and text-based programming.
